GARA presents first donation check to Robert E. Lee PTA
The Greenville Avenue Restaurant Association made good on its promise to donate a portion of the funds raised at the first Taste of Greenville Avenue when a check for $1,250 was presented to the Robert E. Lee Elementary School PTA during the school's Fall Festival.
GARA interim president Greg Watson (Snuffer's) made the presentation to PTA president Susan Villanueva and school principal Alicia Zapata during the event. The amount was kept secret until the last minute when the check was unwrapped, and the surprise is obvious in these photos.

Ms Villanueva, however, knew the final amount after attending the TOGA/GARA post-event Happy Hour at San Francisco Rose on Thursday evening.
A similar check will be presented to the Stonewall Jackson PTA in the near future. And a surprise donation will be made in the very near future to another area school.

GARA interim President Greg Watson explains how TOGA was organized to give back to the neighborhood community just before presenting the check.

Principal Zapata gives the thumbs-up to the parents and students after the check is unwrapped.
